About Parallel Squared Technology Institute
At Parallel Squared Technology Institute, we’re accelerating single-cell proteomics to reveal how protein patterns shape health and disease. By scaling up mass spectrometry tools and workflows, we enable researchers to study thousands of individual cells in parallel, faster than ever before. That’s why “Parallel Squared” is in the name - it reflects this dual parallelization, with many samples and many proteins being processed at once.
Capability targets
Proteomics Platform Development
An open source software platform uniquely capable of searching data generated using standard and PTI developed multiplexing approaches. Researchers can analyze increasingly complex data from their own research applications, identifying more proteins without sacrificing quality or confidence.
Scaling Single-Cell Analysis
PTI uses novel mass tags combined with other multiplexing approaches to bring researchers the capability of analyzing greater samples of single cells faster than previously possible, unlocking research paths for groundbreaking biological discoveries and target therapies.
Decoding Disease Mechanisms
Developing tools for the scientific community to study proteomics pathways is fundamental to understanding and preventing protein dysfunctions across neurodegenerative, metabolic, and other complex diseases. We created protocols to isolate single neurons from human brain tissue to study protein dysfunctions in Alzheimer’s disease, and optimized sample preparation by developing methods to isolate and tag individual immune cells to identify genetic differences in protein turnover.
