About Forest Neurotech
Our mission is to advance neuroscience by developing neurotechnology that is accessible, less invasive, and adaptable across many use cases. Our work opens new avenues for understanding brain function, enabling discoveries that span from fundamental neural mechanisms to complex cognitive and behavioral processes.
Capability targets
Whole-Brain IO
There is currently no method to both sense and actuate brain function at brain-wide scale. This capability would unlock everything from fundamental science in brain (dys)function and the nature of consciousness to myriad brain diagnostics, monitoring, and therapeutic applications.
A Platform for "Brain Apps"
The ability to interact with brain function without ever damaging (or even touching) a single neuron has major downstream impact. A minimally-invasive hardware interface that supports “brain apps”: observing and modulating networks linked to additional indications via software updates and algorithms. This is a paradigm shift in neurotechnology: it unlocks software as a medical device "SaMD" pathways where new use cases ship as software, not new implants.
Open Neuroscience Infrastructure
Along the way to Whole-Brain IO, Forest Neurotech will need to solve data standards, algorithm improvements, user data privacy concerns, and large scale data modeling. Forest plans to share its ever-growing toolbox with the neuroscience and medical communities.
